Which Tarot Deck Suits You Best?

Based on your reading skills, which tarot deck suits you best?

Like most people in the tarot community, I started my tarot journey with the Rider-Waite deck. Back then, I didn’t even know there were so many tarot publishers and tarot decks. For this reason, I had to focus on only one deck for a long time. As my understanding of tarot began to change over time, I realized that my old deck didn’t suit me the way it used to, and I realized that it was time to retire it. To put it more accurately, I was fascinated by the beauty of other decks and wanted to buy them all! Okay, after buying the second deck, things can get out of control.

Some or all of the following considerations should be made when looking for a tarot deck: Many people are initially drawn to a deck for aesthetic reasons, and while doing a reading, it’s important to appreciate the artwork in front of you. Different images, symbols, colors, card titles, the Major Arcana’s order, and the meanings of the cards can make the decks significantly different from traditional decks. You can always choose different, alternative tarot decks as you become more familiar with them. Any deck can be used after you become familiar with the fundamental meanings, symbols, and combinations.

If a particular deck appeals to you, it may be the one you should get. Because there isn’t a single deck that suits everybody. Each tarot deck has its own character, theme, and energy. Connecting with a tarot deck that fits what you’re looking for is essential. You can find answers to your questions or get advice from a deck that you can connect with. As you gain an intuitive understanding of the cards and their meanings, you can always add new decks to your collection.

Tarot Decks for Beginners

Fantôme Tarot Deck

Choosing a tarot deck may depend on your interests and reading skills. Maybe you still want to follow the Rider-Waite tradition, and that’s totally normal. The fully illustrated Minor Arcana by Rider-Waite is particularly influential on contemporary deck design. It’s one of the most traditional decks available, making it ideal for beginners. The scenes are vividly depicted, and there are many symbols on the cards, making it simple to imagine what is happening. The same structure and functionality are used by numerous different decks, though. If you prefer to learn tarot through memorization of archetypes, you can try Âme and Magic Tarot Decks that base themselves on the Rider-Waite system. If the Rider-Waite system doesn’t fit you, Fantôme Tarot Deck is a great alternative. Filled with vivid colors with classic illustrations, this deck gives an extra dimension to the cards. With the vibrant form of the deck, you can tap into your intuition. This one-of-a-kind deck is based on the Rider-Waite but depicts the cards with geometric and traditional brutalist artwork. The cards speak for themselves!

Tarot Decks for Experienced Users

You will become more familiar with your cards as you read more often for other people and for yourself. If you reach that stage, different decks may start to draw your attention. Your comfort level with the cards you’re using will determine how well you’re able to answer the message. You shouldn’t choose a deck that strikes you as strange, unpleasant, or boring since you’ll be spending a lot of time with your cards. Later, you might look for challenging and insightful decks that are unusual.

A more conceptual tarot deck might be appropriate for you if you’re an experienced or advanced tarot reader. The Baroque Tarot Deck is an aesthetically stunning deck that excellently blends Baroque style throughout entire Tarot scenes. It turns all the events that one experiences from birth to death into a journey of spiritual discovery, with the effect of light and dark. It has a bold, sensual, vigorous, flamboyant, ornate, and energetic style. This deck aims to evoke your emotions and heal yourself through inner work.

The Fairy Tale Tarot Deck, on the other hand, calls on you to create your own fairy tale! Thanks to this deck, you can be the creator of your own fairy tale and go on endless adventures. Even as adults, we can learn from the characters in stories, and fairy tales still play an important role in our lives. The true magic of fairy tales lies in their ability to make us re-evaluate our own stories, to shape them, to stray from the path, and to embrace the shadows that grow within us all. They do this by providing us with a momentary escape from reality. This deck will capture your imagination and inspire you to use your creativity. Post Scriptum:

Is there a beginner’s deck for tarot that you should buy? There will be a different deck for each person to connect with. There is no right way to do it, and in the end, everyone chooses the decks they are comfortable with. The best advice would be to go with what your heart feels is right. However, decks based on the artwork of Rider-Waite Smith are the most widely used symbolic format. Having said that, the RWS is a solid first-time deck and a starting point for considering alternative options. Once you have your new decks, you can deepen your understanding by comparing and contrasting the Rider-Waite images and card descriptions with them. You might eventually have a number of decks that you are quite familiar with. You are now ready to buy a new deck or start tarot readings. Good luck to you on your tarot journey!
