A Unique Tarot Deck

A Bewitching Design

Fantôme's design draws inspiration from brutalist architecture - a style that was an ethos of ‘social utopianism’ in the previous century. This style is generally characterized by its rough surfaces, unusual shapes, straight lines, and small openings. The night atmosphere and light illuminated icons symbolize how tarot helps us find our way even in the darkest moments. The iconography of its 78-card is based on the classical Rider-Waite-Smith tarot but reinterpreted through modern geometric design. The deck will consist of the full 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana, broken into four suits of wands, cups, coins, and swords. It also contains 2 bonus cards - The Artist and The Reader.

Amazing Value

A core concept of this deck is exceptional and unparalleled quality, both in its imagery and experience as well as in its construction and manufacture. Fantome aims to set a new standard in build quality and execution. The deck will stand up to the rigors of everyday use. Cards will be made from high-quality three-layer Italian card stock. The front part of the cards contains the beautiful full-frame artwork and the backside is partially covered with gorgeous ice blue foil. It's all packed in a rigid Lid-Bottom box to keep your deck safe wherever you take it. The size of the cards is 70 mm (~2.75 inches) wide and 120 mm (~4.75 inches) tall.

A Unique Guidebook Experience

Besides a printed guidebook this deck also comes with a beautifully designed multidimensional guidebook app. This augmented reality (AR) guidebook elevates the beauty of the card as well as pushes the idea of merging the reality which we live in and the expansive more energetic reality of Tarot. The guidebook app will allow you to learn more about tarot and individual tarot card meanings. The app will also help you see other things - from popular card spreads to hidden design gems. The technology behind it is based on augmented reality and it provides a one-of-a-kind experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in Fantôme tarot deck?

Fantome tarot deck comes with 78 cards which are based on the RWS system. It also includes 2 bonus cards unique to this deck. It comes with a printed guidebook and a digital guidebook in the form of an augmented reality app.

What inspired you to do this deck? What's the significance behind the symbols and lights? How does your process look like?

Tarot cards are exotic and beautiful. I have always been attracted to tarots with bright colors and mysterious pictures. I only started to design my own a few years ago. Being an art teacher helped me get started. I wanted to do a more geometric design for a while now. I used a night atmosphere and added light illuminated symbols to symbolize how tarot helps us find our way even in the darkest moments. I usually do a lot of online research and sketching before I actually do the digital versions of the cards.

What is included in the guidebook?

That's a great question. Many of you asked me this. I actually provide two types of guidebooks. One is printed. It is more of a pocket guidebook which contains explanations of card meanings and some basic spreads. I'm also offering a guidebook app that will contain a lot more information.
